Patagonia Austral - Argentina

Road to El Chalten, 90 km of straight road with face wind, hard face wind!
Day 1, 20 km at 8 km/h in average. 1:00pm, we decide to pitch the tent, waiting for a lull.
No lull! At 9:00pm, on the road again with headlights, riding 2h, 20 km more...
Day 2, wind as loud as the day before. We ride 2h and decide to beggin hitchiking while riding,
after being passed by our 2 friends with their bikes, met the day before, on the back of a pick up!
Only one car will stopped for us, going to an estancia, 2 km away...
We finally finish by bike, exausted.

Nethertheless, scenic road with the majestic Fitz Roy in the background.

El Chalten, starting point of numerous treks.
Perfect location for a few days stop, waiting for the next boat (lated by fuel restrctions due to chilean rebellions)   to reach the beginning of the mythical Carretera Austral road.
Thomas, in admiration for crevasses of National Parc 'Los Glaciares' glaciers.

El Passo del Viento. Awesome viewpoint on the massif,
with the huge glacier Viedma on the middle, together with Juliette, Mathieu and Olivier
on the same road for some days.

The "Casa di Jesus", inevitable encounter point for cyclists, hitchikers, backpackers and other travelers
in El Chalten. Campsite fee: a bottle of wine!
Local dishes for all. There, we talk about adventures in many languages and play music until the end of the night.
